Perfume River Cruise Detailed Itinerary
Part 1: Sunset Cruise On Perfume River Hue
At 5 PM, cyclos and a local tour guide will arrive at your hotel in Hue City. When they meet you, the Perfume River Sunset Cruise starts.
You will pass by lovely downtown roads in the next 20 minutes on chilling cyclos. Tree-lined pathways, buildings, and local houses will make for good scenes to enjoy along the way.
Upon arrival at Toa Kham Boat Station, the host family of a dragon boat will welcome you onboard. Then, you begin the boat ride along the Perfume River and relish its surroundings.
While surfing on gentle water and admiring the riverbank scenery, you will listen to intriguing stories from our local tour guide. He/she will inform you of the Perfume River, the Nguyen Emperors, and especially the love curse when your boat crosses Thien Mu Pagoda.
Most interestingly, you can savor the best sunset moment in the city when floating amidst the shimmering river.
Part 2: Perfume River Dinner Cruise
After that twilight moment, you must be hungry and ready to have dinner. On our Hue dinner cruise, you will have 5 dishes made by a local cook, including:
- Noodle soup with beef (Bún Bò Huế)
- Vietnamese spring rolls
- Squid fried with sticky rice
- Steamed rice with stewed tuna
- Dessert with seasonal fruits
Moreover, you can ask for a small cooking lesson of bánh bột lọc with our cook. It’s a dumpling-like cake including tapioca outside and shrimp/pork fillings. You can add this dish to your meal after cooking it.
Finally, you enjoy the last minutes on the boat by releasing a lantern into the river with your wishes. The Perfume River is one of the sacred icons of Hue City. The practice of dropping a lantern means a prayer for happiness, fortune, and well-being for you and your beloveds.
At around 7:30–8 PM, the boat docks. You will say goodbye and continue to discover Hue by night by yourself. Our Perfume River Sunset Cruise ends here. Come with Hue Private Taxi to enjoy the best Hue sunset cruise.
